Outback NSW stepped into the winners circle at the Inland Tourism Awards in Narrabri on Saturday evening taking out top honours in six of the 20 categories, as well as receiving an additional two awards of distinction bringing the region’s overall tally to eight.  A prelude to the prestigious State Tourism Awards being held in September, winners were thrilled to receive the accolades particularly in light of such strong competition and the
extremely high calibre of submissions.

Outback NSW award recipients and finalists on the night were:
• Darling River Run – Winner Tourism Marketing
• Darling River Run – Winner New tourism Development
• Trentham Estate Winery – Winner Tourism Wineries
• All Seasons Houseboats – Winner Unique Accommodation
• Emaroo Cottages Broken Hill – Winner Deluxe Accommodation
• Mr Wally Mitchell – Winner The Ted Wilson Award - Outstanding Contribution to Tourism
• Black Queen Experience, Lightning Ridge – Finalist Heritage & Cultural Tourism
• Black Queen Experience, Lightning Ridge – Finalist Tourism Marketing
• The Long Paddock – Finalist Heritage & Cultural Tourism
• The Long Paddock – Finalist Tourism Marketing

Outback NSW Tourism Executive Officer, Ms Lori Modde, says the number of finalist nominations the region received is testament to hard work and the ongoing commitment of operators and individuals to grow and develop the industry. It may also be a reason Outback NSW continues to defy national visitation trends.
“The innovative product Outback NSW offers and our demonstrated commitment to outstanding customer service and enhancing the visitor experience are all contributing factors.
“I congratulate all our finalists and award winners on a job well done and wish them continued success. They’re acknowledgement is well deserved.”
